Common queries about battery charging

Battery life

Batteries are consumable, like the ink of a pen. They use technology or Li-ion or Li-Polymer that over time, whether we like or not, causes them to deteriorate and change. This means that its behaviour varies over time, reducing its maximum charge capacity and charging times. Additionally, when performing partial charge cycles, the battery indicator may lose synchronisation. In this article, we try to answer the most common users queries.

The battery indicator is unstable or does not match up with reality

For the correct operation of the battery, it is recommended that the battery goes through full charge and discharge cycles. This helps keep its life stable.

However, it can sometimes happen that the partial charging and discharging processes cause the battery indicator to become unstable. If so, try a full battery discharge and recharge it to 100% capacity.

Once this is done, check if the battery indicator is now behaving correctly.

Can I charge the battery and use the tablet at the same time?

The charge is very slow

Charger and cable used

Make sure you use the charger supplied with your tablet (if it is included) as well as the cable supplied with it. Although all micro USB cables look the same, not all connectors are the same length, and sometimes problems occur as a result.

Charging with chargers not included

If you wish to use a charger not included in the box, bear in mind that:

  • For tablets with batteries under 11Wh (approximately 3,000mAh) you can charge the battery in a reasonable time with the USB charger of your mobile, with the usual power output of 5W (5V and 1A).
  • For tablets with batteries over 11Wh (approximately 3,000mAh), we recommend using a USB charger with a power output of at least 10W (5V and 2A).

Charge time

The charging time may vary depending on the status of the tablet. If it is in use while charging, the process will be longer. If it is in sleep or off, which is the most recommended, the charge time will be quicker.

Low charge level

Keep in mind that if your tablet's battery level is very low, it is likely that you need a few minutes from your connection to the power supply for it to reach the minimum level for starting. This period could last up to several hours in specific cases, but there is nothing to worry about, the tablet is still in perfect condition.

Trial and error procedure

If after a few minutes, you are still experiencing this problem, please follow the steps below:

  1. Try using different power sources to check if the problem may be due to the plug you are using.
  2. Try loading other devices with these accessories, to see if the anomaly persists.
  3. Try using the USB charger for a smartphone or mobile phone that you have in your home.

The tablet only works connected to the power supply

Please try to charge the battery 100% and carry out a usage test. If the problem persists, it is likely that the battery is damaged due to use, or defective. Please contact our technical support team so they can support

Noises from the charger

Some chargers, at specific times, may make a small buzzing. This is normal. However, if there is a charger among the accessories with your tablet, we recommend using the charger supplied.
