New message received
When you receive a new text message, the phone will play a tone and display an on-screen alert. The icon will also be displayed on the screen.
To open the message:
1. Select “View” if the notification appears on the screen, or go to the “Messages → Inbox” menu. New messages are marked with the closed-envelope icon.
2. Press OK to open and read the message .
NOTE: The new message icon will remain on the screen as long as there are unread messages.
Message options:
When you open a message, you can:
- Delete: Delete the message.
- Reply: Reply to the sender with an SMS or MMS message.
- Forward: Forward the message to another contact.
- Call sender: Place a phone call to the sender.
- Move: Move the message to Secure Box, to the original mailbox (if previously moved), to the SIM, or to the Phone.
- Add to contacts: Add the sender’s phone number to a new or existing contact.
- Details: Show who sent the SMS, at what time and where it was stored.
Write and receive a message
Text input mode:
The text input mode is the character set used when composing messages, entering contacts, etc. Press the # key to access options: sSp, ssp, sSP, Sp, sp, SP, Abc, abc, ABC, 123 and other input languages. The icon in the top left indicates the mode in use.
