Once the phone is connected to the telephone line, it’s ready to make and receive calls. However, if you wish, you can make the following settings:
Date & Time
You must update the year so the weekday in the calendar is correct, following these steps:
- With the handset on-hook, press the MENU key (9). SET 1 DATE appears on the display. Press MENU (9) again.
- The year starts flashing. Use the ▼▲ keys to increase or decrease the year. Press MENU (9).
- The month starts flashing. Use the ▼▲ keys to increase or decrease the month. Press MENU (9).
- The day starts flashing. Use the ▼▲ keys to increase or decrease the day. Press MENU (9).
- The hour starts flashing. Use the ▼▲ keys to increase or decrease the hour. Press MENU (9).
- The minutes start flashing. Use the ▼▲ keys to increase or decrease the minutes. Press MENU (9).
NOTE: On the second icon line you’ll see the seven days of the week (SUN; MON; TUE; WED; THU; FRI; SAT).
Contrast
There are 8 levels available for LCD contrast. Default: LCD 4. Follow these steps to change contrast:
- With the handset on-hook, press MENU (9). Press ▲ three times until SET 4 LCD appears. Press MENU (9).
- Use the ▼▲ keys to select the desired contrast: LCD 1 (low) to LCD 9 (high). Press MENU (9) to confirm.
Shortcut: With the handset on-hook, press R (11) to enter contrast settings directly, then press R again to adjust the LCD contrast.
ALARM/P Key
If you wish to set an alarm:
- With the handset on-hook, press ALARM/P (15) once. The display shows 12-00 AL1.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to select ON or OFF. The icon “ALM” appears when alarm is ON.
- Press MENU (9); the hour value flashes.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to set the alarm hour, then press MENU (9) to confirm and move to minutes.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to set the alarm minutes, then press MENU (9) to confirm or press
(8) to finish and exit.
- Repeat above steps to set additional alarms.
Note: The first 3 alarms repeat daily; the last 2 sound only once.
HOLD Key (Call Hold)
There are 6 melodies available:
- When off-hook or on speakerphone, press the HOLD key (3).
- Press
(20) to scroll through hold music options (melody plays as you scroll).
- Use ▲ or ▼ to adjust hold music volume (4 levels).
- During a handset call, press HOLD (3) to enter hold mode and play hold music. Placing the handset on-hook activates speakerphone hold.
- To exit hold, press HOLD (3) again and resume handset call.
- In speakerphone mode, press HOLD (3) to enter hold and play music.
- To exit hold, lift the handset or press
(13) to resume speakerphone call.
Mute Key 
When on a call and you need to speak to someone else without the other party hearing, press (5) to mute your microphone.
To return to normal conversation, press (5) again.
LCD Backlight
The backlight turns on automatically when you receive a call, dial, press any key, or activate MUSIC HOLD (3).
The backlight turns off if the phone is idle for 6 seconds.
Note: If batteries are not installed correctly or are depleted, the backlight won’t function.
