Quick charge function

Your DISCOVERY 3 PRO has a fast charging feature that allows you to fully charge the device in less than 3 hours.

To take full advantage of this feature, it is important that you use the cable supplied with your device, which is compatible with the PD (Power Delivery) standard, as well as a charger that complies with that same standard.

Most chargers in our homes are not compatible with fast charging; therefore, below we explain how you can identify such a charger to make the most of the fast charging function of your DISCOVERY 3 PRO.

The first step is to check whether the charging port (or one of them) on the charger is USB‑C. If so, you can continue reading this article; if not, your charger is not compatible with fast charging, and we recommend that you look for a USB‑C PD charger to enjoy this feature.

Check the technical information on your regular charger; there will be a section indicating the power input (INPUT) and another with the power output (OUTPUT).

If the OUTPUT information is only 5V 1.0A 5.0W or 5V 2.0A 10.0W, your charger is not PD (Power Delivery) and therefore will not be compatible with the fast charging of your DISCOVERY 3 PRO.

On the other hand, if in the OUTPUT section you also see data such as 5V 3.0A 15.0W or 9.0V 2.0A 18.0W in addition to 5V 2.0A 10.0W, then you have a PD (Power Delivery) charger and you can take advantage of fast charging for your device.

In short, what matters is the final output power (the value given by the charger in watts, W) that the charger can supply to your device. As long as it is 15.0W or higher, it will be compatible with this feature. The DISCOVERY 3 PRO supports up to 33W.
