Location of Controls

Here you can find the controls of your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO:

 

 

 

The screen is touch-enabled, so all functions are managed via the touch panel. It only has one front button at the bottom.

Description:

  • Central button: A short press performs the Back function while a long press returns to the home screen.

Main Menu

This is the main menu of your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO. Thanks to its touch screen, you can access each function by tapping directly on each element. In the following sections we explain each option:

Recently Read

In this option you will find a list of the most recent files you have been reading over the past few days, so you can access the books you are reading more conveniently. By tapping on the sides you can view the items not visible on the screen.

Recently Added

Here, the most recently added books will appear. By tapping on the sides you can access the items not visible on the screen.

Library

By accessing this option, you can view all the books stored in the internal memory of your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO.

You can add books in 3 different ways:

  1. Using the file explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac): You can copy the books to the internal memory or to a memory card if available. You can create folders and subfolders to organize your books as you prefer.
  2. Using Calibre: Calibre is an application for digital reading enthusiasts. It is available for Windows and Mac, and you can find more information in this article.
  3. Using Adobe Digital Editions: This application allows you to copy to your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO the books you have purchased or rented that are compatible with Adobe DRM. You can find more information in this article.

Images

The reader offers a feature to view images and photos in JPG, BMP, PNG, and GIF format.

By accessing this option, you can see all the images from the internal memory or from the external memory of the reader. To do this, you will need to save the images you want to view in the internal memory or on a memory card.

Explorer

From the file and folder explorer you can access any of the files you have copied to the reader. In the lower area of the screen, the Options are displayed, and under the Menu option, additional functions to Search, Delete, and View the memory status will appear.

Search

With this option a search box with a keyboard appears. Enter a search phrase, press OK on the keyboard and OK in the search box to confirm, and the books containing that phrase will be displayed. The search can be by title or author.

Other Options

This section contains other utilities such as Calendar, Games, Electronic Dictionary, and Notes.

The Electronic Dictionary contains several dictionaries in different languages for looking up words or translating into English. By tapping the current language icon at the top right, you can change the language. Tapping the text input box brings up a keyboard to enter the word you wish to search for. It is possible to switch between different keyboards by selecting the lower right key.

Settings

Select this option to configure the various settings offered by the DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO:

  • Screen refresh: To define after how many pages the screen refreshes.
  • Power settings: Set Auto-shutdown and Standby.
  • Date and time: To modify a parameter, tap it and use the on-screen controls at the bottom to increase or decrease the value. Press OK to confirm.
  • Language.
  • Format device.
  • Default settings.
  • Device information.
