Your DISCOVERY 3 has a fast charging feature that allows you to fully charge the device in less than 3 hours.
To take advantage of this feature, it is important to use the cable supplied with your device, which is compatible with the PD (Power Delivery) standard, and a charger compatible with this same standard.
Most chargers in our homes are not compatible with fast charging, so below we explain how to identify this type of charger so you can get the most out of the fast charging feature of your DISCOVERY 3.
The first step is to check whether the charging port (or one of them) on the charger is USB-C. If so, you can continue reading this article. If not, your charger is not compatible with fast charging, and we recommend looking for a USB-C PD charger to enjoy this feature.
Check the technical information related to your usual charger; there will be a section indicating the power input (INPUT) and another section indicating the power output (OUTPUT).
If the information in the OUTPUT section only shows 5V 1.0A 5.0W or 5V 2.0A 10.0W, your charger is not PD (Power Delivery) and therefore will not be compatible with fast charging on your DISCOVERY PRO.
However, if the OUTPUT section includes additional information besides 5V 2.0A 10.0W, such as 5V 3.0A 15.0W or 9.0V 2.0A 18.0W, you have a PD (Power Delivery) charger and can enjoy fast charging on your device.
Ultimately, the important thing is the final power output (the value the charger provides to us in watts, W) that the charger is capable of supplying to your device. As long as it is 15.0W or higher, it will be compatible with this feature.
